Amen! I remember pacing back and forth in the longest stretch of my downtown SF apartment (15-20 feet?!!?) for 45 minutes to try to simulate a workout. I should've done the stairs like you did. But that would've meant overcoming my Hollywood-induced phobia of empty stairwells, where people always seem to get killed and then tumble however many flights. Did you work out in a dark parking garage in Spain too, while you were at it? (Ha ha.)

I absolutely had similar fears that I would take a tumble and my body would be discovered weeks later in my almost vacant building!

This detailed and vivid description of your experience undergoing lockdown in Spain really resonates with me. Not sure "thanks" fits here, exactly -- :-o -- but your writing transported back to the early days of Covid restrictions in the US, when those came.
